Tribute

Kenneth A. Miller, of Bigfork, died Wednesday, June 24, 2020, in his home. 

He was born October 14, 1948 in Marion, Indiana to Robert and Viola Miller. 

Ken served in the U.S. Army for eight years, including time as an aircraft mechanic in Vietnam, and Stateside at Fort Knox and Fort Sam Houston.  During his service he was awarded the Bronze Star along with other citations.  While stationed at Fort Sam Houston he married Nancy Oswold on August 14, 1971. 

After both were discharged from the Army, he and his family moved to Gustine, California, and eventually to Bigfork where he has lived for the past 38 years.  He owned and drove a tow truck, worked as an auto mechanic, and as a clerk at several local stores where he met many of his longtime friends. 

He was a shooting enthusiast and reloader.  He enjoyed reading, tending to his yard, cleaning and polishing his vehicles, and all-around tinkering. 

Ken is survived by mother Viola Miller-Hogberg, sister Linda Baird, and brothers Phil Miller and wife Nancy, Keith Miller and wife Mary, and David Miller and wife Judy, all of Kalamazoo, MI; son Dwight Miller and wife Kristyn of Parker, CO; son Scott Miller and wife Cheri of Portland, OR; granddaughter Abigail Miller and grandson Blake Miller.  He was preceded in death by his wife Nancy, and his father Robert Miller. 

Visitation will be from 3 to 4 p.m. with services following at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30, at Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home in Kalispell.  Military honors will be at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Michigan at the time of interment.
